CDWN’S KEY PROGRAM PRIORITIES FOR 2024-2028

ERADICATION OF ALL FORMS OF CASTE & GENDER-BASED DISCRIMINATIONS

CDWN will place a significant emphasis on the complete elimination of caste and gender-based discrimination. This strategic priority entails comprehensive initiatives aimed at challenging and dismantling entrenched discriminatory practices. CDWN will review the existing policies, advocate and lobby for policies that facilitate Dalit women and vulnerable communities’ inclusion, establish partnerships with larger stakeholders including government and like-minded institutions, etc.

MEANINGFUL POLITICAL PARTICIPATION OF DALIT & MARGINALIZED WOMEN

CDWN recognizes the pivotal role of political participation in driving social change. In line with this strategic priority, the CDWN will endeavor to empower Dalit and marginalized women to actively engage in political processes through advocacy with policy makers and stakeholders for the political participation, capacity building of Dalit and marginalized women to enhance their political participation, and working towards breaking down barriers that hinder their effective participation in decision-making at all levels

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF DALIT & MARGINALIZED WOMEN

The economic empowerment of Dalit and marginalized women stands as a cornerstone in CDWN's strategic plan. CDWN will create sustainable economic opportunities for this demographic, fostering entrepreneurship, and promoting financial independence through skill development and livelihoods programs, various value chains development, access to resources, and advocacy for fair economic policies, CDWN aims to uplift these women and contribute to the overall economic advancement of marginalized communities

DISASTER & CLIMATE RESILIENCE

Acknowledging the disproportionate impact of disasters and climate change on vulnerable populations, CDWN prioritizes building resilience in Dalit and marginalized communities. This involves implementing strategies for disaster preparedness, providing education on climate change adaptation, and ensuring that these communities have the resources and knowledge to cope with environmental challenges. CDWN aims to create a resilient framework that safeguards the well-being of Dalit and marginalized women in the face of environmental uncertainties

ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES

In charting its course for organizational growth and impact from 2024 to 2028, CDWN will strategically focus on a comprehensive set of organizational development priorities. A core element of this strategic plan is the development and implementation of robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) practices to ensure the efficacy and impact of CDWN's initiatives. Volunteerism will be encouraged and integrated as a means to foster community engagement and empowerment, amplifying the organization's outreach. It will further fortify its internal structures and procedures, enhancing organizational efficiency for streamlined operations. Recognizing the importance of a skilled and empowered team, CDWN will prioritize capacity building to ensure the effective implementation of programs designed to address the unique needs of Dalit and marginalized communities. Moreover, CDWN will establish strategic partnerships with various stakeholders, including all tiers of governments, the private sector, development partners and donors, and local NGOs to create a collaborative and supportive environment. Network building and mobilization efforts will further strengthen CDWN's impact. The development of a training center underscores the commitment to continuous learning and skill development of CDWN board, staff members, activists, people’s representatives, women leaders from Dalit and marginalized communities of political parties, stakeholders, etc. Furthermore, CDWN will develop a resource mobilization strategy to focus on the financial sustainability of CDWN, reinforcing its ability to make a lasting and positive difference in the lives of Dalit and marginalized women.

CROSS-CUTTING/MAINSTREAMING PRIORITIES

  • Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI): Inclusive interventions that cater to the diverse needs of Dalit women, people with disability and marginalized groups, fostering an environment of empowerment and equity.
  • Intersectionality and Inclusivity: Active participation and representation of marginalized groups within the Dalit community.
  • Digital Rights and Digitalization: Leveraging digital tools and platforms to amplify the voices of Dalit women and marginalized women, ensuring their participation in the digital sphere.
