Under our project Dealing with the Past, Participation of Marginalized Groups, and Methods of Non-Violent Conflict Transformation in Nepal, supported by Kurve Wustrow, our womens groups in Siraha district are actively taking their learning back to their communities.
Recently, women facilitators led community discussions on important social issues including caste-based discrimination, child marriage, and social inclusion. During the sessions we also shared information about available support and referral mechanisms, including CDWN’s toll-free helpline, Nepal Police support services, and other local protection and justice mechanisms, so that women and community members are aware of where and how to seek support when facing violence, discrimination, or other rights-related issues.
We are also grateful for the support and participation of local government representatives, who contributed to making these sessions more informative and impactful.
Together, we continue working towards a more just, peaceful, and inclusive society in Nepal.
