116th International Women's Day
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, CDWN, together with civil society organizations, local elected representatives, and the police, organized rallies and advocacy programs.
The rallies carried strong messages such as building a violence free society, educating daughters instead of giving dowry, preventing child marriage, and encouraging women and girls to speak openly against violence.The program also emphasized the need to strengthen women’s representation in leadership and decision making, ensuring the voices of women, Dalit, marginalized communities, and women with disabilities are included. Police representatives also expressed their commitment to collaborate in building a society free from violence against women.
CDWN continues to work with communities, local governments, and partners to promote women’s rights, prevent gender based violence, and strengthen women’s participation in leadership and decision making.
