CDWN and Partners Conduct Master Training of Trainers (MTOT) Under Hamro Sahakarya Project

From April 21 to 25, 2025, the Center for Dalit Women Nepal (CDWN), in consortium with Nepal Dalit Sewa Samaj (NDSS), and JuRI Nepal in consortium with FEDO, successfully conducted a five-day Master Training of Trainers (MTOT) as part of the Hamro Sahakarya project. The training was facilitated by Rain Barrel Communication, with technical support from UN Women.

This intensive training brought together 15 committed participants from CDWN and NDSS. Based on the Year 3 Facilitation Manual on Promoting Gender Transformative Dialogue, the MTOT built on the foundational work from previous years. In Year 1, participants examined the roots of gender discrimination and power dynamics. Year 2 focused on strengthening participants’ voice and communication skills.

Now in Year 3, the focus has shifted to empowering Self Help Groups (SHGs) to lead collective action through Community Action Plans that promote gender equality and foster sustainable, community-led change. This milestone marks another important step toward building informed, resilient, and empowered communities capable of challenging harmful social norms. 💪✨

The Hamro Sahakarya initiative, funded by the Embassy of Finland in Nepal with support from UN Women, is led by CDWN and NDSS. The project aims to transform discriminatory social norms and promote gender equality through grassroots-level engagement. By strengthening women's leadership and their participation in decision-making spaces, the initiative continues to drive inclusive and lasting change within communities across Nepal.
