Empowering Young Voices: Speech Competition at Shree Swet Baraha Secondary School

As part of our ongoing commitment to challenge harmful social norms, CDWN organized a speech competition at Shree Swet Baraha Secondary School, Tukucha-7, Kavre.

Theme: “The Role of Families in Reducing Gender-Based Violence”

The students spoke confidently and thoughtfully, emphasizing that violence can affect anyone, regardless of gender. They demonstrated a strong awareness of the issue and shared ideas on how families and communities can help prevent it. The students were also knowledgeable about the laws related to violence in Nepal. Many enriched their speeches with poems and personal stories, making their presentations engaging and inspiring. Certificates and awards were presented to recognize their efforts and encourage them to continue raising their voices 🌟💪.

This event went beyond learning—it was about empowering young voices to take important messages back to their families and communities, sparking conversations that challenge harmful social practices.

This initiative is part of the Hamro Sahakarya Project, funded by the Government of Finland, with technical support from UN Women Nepal, jointly implemented by CDWN and NDSS.
