Community Action Plan Session on Child Marriage at Prabhat Secondary School

As part of our Hamro Sahakarya project, the Ugrachandi Mahila Samuha recently organized a meaningful Community Action Plan session at Prabhat Secondary School in Banepa-3.

The session focused on the critical topic of child marriage. Students explored why child marriage happens, how it impacts young lives, and what steps can be taken if someone experiences it or witnesses it happening around them. This wasn’t just about sharing information — it was about creating a safe space to listen, reflect, and speak out.

The students actively participated, confidently sharing their ideas and demonstrating a deep awareness of the issue. Their engagement and confidence gave us great hope that these young voices will play a vital role in ending harmful social practices and raising awareness within their communities.

Hamro Sahakarya is an initiative funded by the Embassy of Finland in Nepal with support from UN Women, and led by the Center for Dalit Women Nepal (CDWN) in partnership with Nepal Dalit Sewa Samaj.
