CAP SESSIONS - HAMRO SAHAKARYA
Hamro Sahakarya Project in Action
Under the Hamro Sahakarya project, we have been actively working with communities in Kavre to address critical social issues through Community Action Plans (CAP). These locally led initiatives are creating space for dialogue, learning, and collective action, helping transform harmful social norms and foster gender equality.
Addressing Domestic Violence in Banepa, Nala
In Banepa, Nala, the Bhagwati Women’s Group facilitated a powerful session focused on domestic violence. The session provided a safe and supportive environment where women openly shared their personal experiences, learned about available support systems, and discussed prevention strategies. The courage and openness shown by the participants highlighted the need for continued dialogue and community-based solutions.
Navigating Conflict Resolution at Banepa Ward 13
Another impactful CAP session was organized by the Nashika Self-Help Group at Banepa Ward 13. The discussion centered around conflict resolution, addressing common disputes within families and the broader community. Participants explored peaceful approaches to handling conflicts and were encouraged to speak up and seek legal assistance when necessary. The session emphasized the importance of communication, understanding, and legal empowerment.
A Step Toward Transformational Change
These conversations mark the beginning of long-term community transformation. Real change starts when people come together to reflect, learn, and act with purpose.
The Hamro Sahakarya initiative is funded by the Embassy of Finland in Nepal, with support from UN Women. It is implemented by the Center for Dalit Women Nepal (CDWN) in partnership with Nepal Dalit Sewa Samaj. The project is focused on challenging and changing discriminatory social norms, strengthening women's leadership, and promoting inclusive participation in decision-making spaces.
Together, we are building communities where everyone feels safe, heard, and empowered.
